Everyone in America loves chips. They are crunchy and tasty and a great company while watching a movie or chatting with a friend. Although not exactly healthy, they are everyone’s favorite hunger buster too.
Chips are usually served as appetizer, side dish or snack. Supermarket shelves are filled with all sorts of these crunchy snacks and you can see people swarming in this area at any time of the day. But did you know that the first chips looked way thicker than they are now? And what more, they were eaten by using a fork!
In 1853, a restaurant owner in New York by the name of George Crum got fed up with a certain customer complaining that his fried potatoes were too soggy and thick. Crum, quite pissed off, decided to cut his potatoes into extremely thin slices that they couldn’t be eaten with a fork anymore. And since they could barely be fried well in a pan, he just stir-fried them. To his surprise, instead of making the customer even angrier, the latter actually liked the former’s innovation. These thin-sliced potatoes became a staple item in Crum’s menu which eventually became popular in the whole New York and New England.
Crum’s chips evolved into the chips we know now. They come in different flavors and shapes and they are also fatty and salty. Since a lot of people are joining the bandwagon of dieting and losing weight, a lot of them are complaining about how hard it is to resist these chips. Well, there’s no need for that anymore, Medifast is offering Medifast Soy Crisps that make dieting more fun and less boring.
Medifast Soy Crisps have three different flavors: apple cinnamon, ranch, and white cheddar. They are all just as yummy as your favorite chips only lower in fat, lower in calorie, and lactose free.
